Ukraine’s Overnight Drone Campaign Extends Beyond Moscow to Crimea, Air Base, Shadow Fleet

As Ukraine targeted logistics and fuel infrastructure in the Moscow region early Monday, while also striking a key Russian military air base, air defense systems, energy infrastructure in occupied Crimea, and vessels in the Black and Azov seas, according to Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF).

USF said the operation destroyed six Russian air defense assets in Russia’s Krasnodar region, including near the military airfield in Yeysk, one of Russia’s main aviation bases in the south.

According to the agency, the strikes hit targets in Yeysk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and the village of Kamyshevatskaya, destroying a Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system, two Nebo-SV radar stations, and several other air defense systems.

The Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported that a fire broke out at the Yeysk air base, reportedly near a fuel storage facility. Kyiv Post could not independently verify the claim.

The USF also said it destroyed seven Russian vessels overnight in the Black and Azov seas, including three oil tankers believed to be part of Russia’s “shadow fleet” used to export sanctioned Russian crude, and four cargo ships. 

Russian authorities said one woman was injured in Yeysk by falling drone debris and that seven private homes were damaged.

The USF also claimed to have struck seven electricity infrastructure sites across occupied Crimea overnight, including substations in Yalta, Morske, Pryvitne, Luchyste, and several other locations.

Ukrainian monitoring channels reported a strike on the Darsan electrical substation in Yalta and another on the Privetnoye substation near Alushta, where a fire was reported. 

The attacks come as occupied Crimea continues to experience widespread power disruptions following repeated Ukrainian strikes on the peninsula’s energy infrastructure.

State-owned utility Krymenergo said electricity remained partially unavailable in western, southern, and eastern Crimea after the latest attacks.

“Electricity supply to settlements in the northern, eastern and western energy districts most affected by UAV attacks is being restored depending on the capabilities of the power grid,” the company said.

Crimea Water, the peninsula’s state water utility, also reported partial water supply disruptions on Monday in Alushta, Simferopol, Kerch, and Bilohirsk district.

In Russia’s Belgorod region, a Ukrainian drone struck a Rosneft gas station, according to local authorities and regional media.

One man sustained shrapnel wounds, while the blast damaged the station’s canopy, windows, a nearby bus stop, and a vehicle.

Russia’s defense ministry said its air defenses intercepted 381 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight over 15 Russian regions, the Moscow region, and the waters of the Azov and Black seas.

The ministry also said drones targeted a logistics hub, an oil depot, and a Wildberries warehouse in the Moscow region.
