The threat of Russian missile strikes on Ukraine remains very high. However, it may not necessarily be a massive strike, the Ukrainian Army’s Operational Command South spokeswoman Natalia Humeniuk said on Wednesday, while speaking on state TV.

According to her, the enemy ship group on combat duty in the Black Sea remains unchanged, consisting of 15 ships, including 5 missile carriers with up to 32 Kalibr missiles each, and submarines.

Humeniuk noted that Ukrainian air defense forces find detecting missile launches from underwater carriers difficult, making the threat especially high. She drew attention to the fact that such a number of missiles had not been recorded in the Black Sea for a long time.

In addition, Russian aviation activity has been observed.

“Considering that the enemy is looking for a new tactic of using missile strikes, it may not necessarily be a massive strike. A precise attack is possible as well as an attack in several waves. We must be very vigilant,” she stressed, adding that the weather conditions in the sea remain moderate, which allows the enemy to launch missiles.
