Ukraine continues in its endeavour to seize the property of Russians who support Putin’s brutal invasion. Below is a statement from the official website of the Ukrainian government.
The Government decided to withdraw more than 900 objects of russian ownership in favor of Ukraine. The relevant Decree must be signed by the President of Ukraine. After that, the National Security and Defense Council has to launch the nationalization of assets.
The decision provides for the confiscation of 824 items of property and 79 items of corporate rights. They belong to the russian federation, sanctioned citizens and companies. Assets of russian banks are also among the objects that are planned to be nationalized.
“We continue the gradual and systematic work to seize russian assets. All property of the aggressor on the territory of our country will be converted into funds and directed to our defense and our future victory”, stressed the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine also implements an active sanctions policy in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions”.
