Fighters in Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) active combat units delivered a powerful blow to Russian positions on the Zaporizhzhia front over the past week, destroying dozens of enemy vehicles and inflicting heavy losses on Russian personnel, HUR’s Strategic Communications Center reported on Wednesday, April 23.
“HUR’s active combat units spent the week relentlessly setting fire to another mountain of Russia’s deadly steel,” the report states.

As part of their active defense operations, Ukrainian intelligence forces destroyed:
- 37 transport vehicle
- 25 armored vehicles
- 2 tanks
- 7 mortars
- 19 artillery systems
- 9 drones (strike and reconnaissance)
- 5 communication systems
- 6 electronic warfare/intelligence systems (EW/ELINT)
Additionally, HUR forces successfully struck over 150 Russian engineering and fortification structures. 24 Russian soldiers were confirmed killed, with another 128 wounded.
HUR summed up the week with the statement: “Mountains of steel and dead occupiers. The fight goes on!”
In its post, the agency also invited all willing Ukrainians to join its active combat units.
On Tuesday Kyiv Post reported that HUR released footage showing the destruction of a Russian assault group during one of the largest recent offensives in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
The video, shared by the Artan Active Operations Unit on April 22, is captioned: “For the first time, we are showing epic footage of the destruction of a Russian group that the invaders threw into a breakthrough attempt in the Zaporizhzhia sector.”

According to the unit, Russian forces launched a large-scale assault just before the Easter holidays, targeting positions held by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, specifically in Artan’s area of responsibility.
“More than 300 troops, 40 armored combat vehicles, 3 tanks, and about 10 buggies advanced in 6 columns,” reads the report.
