Ukraine’s Air Force had earlier cautioned that several Iranian-made Shahed drones were approaching the region from the north, prompting air raid sirens to sound across multiple parts of the country, including Mykolaiv.
Despite the blasts, emergency services reported receiving no immediate calls for assistance, according to Senkevych.
The assault came as Ukrainian forces said they had intercepted 64 attack drones launched by Russia overnight. Another 62 drones, believed to be decoys designed to distract and deplete Ukraine’s air defenses, reportedly caused no damage on the ground.
