Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia early on Tuesday morning, Dec. 30, damaging infrastructure and residential buildings, as emergency services continue to work at the scene.

Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration (OVA), Ivan Fedorov, reported on Telegram that the strike hit an industrial infrastructure facility.

Specialized services are currently operating at the site, surveying the area and documenting the consequences of the attack.

According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities. However, Fedorov said a woman sought medical assistance and was being taken to hospital.

“A 43-year-old woman sought medical help, with a preliminary diagnosis of shrapnel wounds,” he wrote.

As of the latest update, two multi-story apartment buildings and four private houses were reported damaged. Specialists continue to inspect surrounding areas for additional damage.

Explosions were also reported overnight in Odesa, as air raid alerts warned of a ballistic missile threat across southern, northern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.

“The city is under enemy attack! Stay in safe places,” Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, wrote on Telegram.

Russian forces launched targeted attacks against civilian and humanitarian infrastructure on Saturday, June 6, striking two rescue boats in the Black Sea and a café in the Zaporizhzhia region. According to the Air Force, from 6 p.m. on Dec. 29, Russia launched an attack using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 60 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as other drones. About 40 of them were Shahed drones

The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“As of 09:00, air defense forces had shot down or suppressed one ballistic missile and 52 enemy Shahed, Gerbera strike UAVs and other types of drones in the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country,” the report said.

At the same time, one ballistic missile and eight strike UAVs were recorded hitting targets at five locations.
