Only hours later, Russia launched its overnight barrage of Kyiv, forcing 52,500 Ukrainian residents, including about 4,500 children, to shelter in the capital’s Metro system, marking the highest wartime use of the shelters.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia launched 570 aerial weapons during the overnight assault. The barrage included 496 attack and decoy drones – including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol and Parodiya models – as well as 74 missiles.

The drone and missile barrage killed 30 civilians and injured 91 more, prompting Zelensky to declare Friday a Day of Mourning.

In response, Ukraine struck Russian military logistics in occupied Crimea, confirming the destruction of two road bridges previously hit in occupied Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.

In a separate attack, Ukraine targeted Belgorod Energy Facilities, causing major power and water outages, with the strike coming as part of a broader campaign against Russia’s oil and energy infrastructure.
