Russian Overnight Strikes Kill One, Injure Dozens Across Ukraine

Russian forces launched multiple attacks across several Ukrainian regions early Monday, July 27, killing 1 civilian in Zaporizhzhia and injuring at least 12 others in strikes involving guided aerial bombs and drones.

The deadliest attack hit the city of Zaporizhzhia, where a Russian guided bomb destroyed a private home, killing a 67-year-old man, regional authorities said.

Rescuers pulled a 22-year-old man alive from the rubble after several hours. He was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

In a separate strike, a Russian drone hit an apartment in a residential high-rise, wounding a 53-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man. Emergency crews, police investigators, and bomb disposal teams continued working at the impact sites.

In the Sumy region, Russia dropped at least seven guided aerial bombs on the Sumy community, injuring five civilians. Officials said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening.

The attacks damaged homes, civilian infrastructure, and vehicles, while damage assessments remained underway.

In Dnipro, a Russian drone attack sparked a fire at a private residence. The blast wave shattered windows in several apartment buildings and damaged cars and a store.

Ukraine’s Air Force said air defenses intercepted 15 Russian drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight. Authorities were still verifying whether the attack caused any casualties in the regional capital.
