War in Ukraine

The Poll: When Can Ukraine Win the War? - People Hope for the Best, But Prepare for the Worst

Kyiv Post correspondents once again hit the streets to gather firsthand perspectives on another question: When could Ukraine achieve victory in the war—before the end of 2024, after 2025 or later?

Kyiv Post correspondents once again hit the streets to gather firsthand perspectives on another contentious question: When could Ukraine potentially achieve victory in the war—before the end of 2024, or after 2025 or even later?

This time, we broadened our scope even further, conducting interviews in four cities: Kyiv, New York, London, and Warsaw.

From the responses received, it’s clear people are inclined to hope for the best-case scenario and want to believe this war could come to an end as soon as possible. Nonetheless, while considering the actual circumstances, they are also mentally prepared for the scenario that the war might endure for years.

The newspapers sets the mood of the people. I keep reading headline like this one: When can Ukraine win the war, or If Ukraine wins the war what will it look like. Ukraine already won this war as Russia is not in the position to take any more territory. Ukraine is steadily pushing Russia out of Ukraine by taking back the land Russia previously occupied. So the headlines should reflect victory, but the need to finally end the war.

You need to rephrase the headlines as: When can Ukraine end this war, or Ukraine is acquiring F-16's to bring a speedy end to the war, or When can Ukraine finally push the last Russian Soldier out of Ukraine. Also the story content also needs to reflect the same. Don't question if Ukraine can win, instead write about ending the war.

I KNOW!... NOT hoping!... I KNOW With 100 Procent!... That Ukraine Will Defend Theirs Border, and Also Take Back The Present Occupided Territorium incl. Luhansk/Donetsk/Krim...
Why?!?

Answer:
Beqause it´s The Only Way Forward!... For The "Normal" Citizens of The World!

I can NOT see another outcome of the "current" Russian aggression and daily war crimes the Russian Federation commits! Russia have crossed the RED LINE, it´s no way Russia can be forgiven... maybe +100 year in the future, when theirs war crimes only listed in Books!!

Putin and the Russian army, as well as the Russian citizens, must be held accountable for their acts of war and behavior! The propaganda machine and its advocates must also be held accountable!
-This is The Way!

Slava Ukraini!

Putin will have no problem with massive Russian casualties for the next few years, hoping the West gets tired of funding Ukrainian defenses. I detest Putin, but I think the only way to end the war by then is to offer Putin legal rights to Crimea. Crimea has a population that's 75% native-Russian speaking and consider themselves Russia, Crimea was given to Ukraine in the 1950's, having then Russia before that. Crimea couldn't be the key to ending the war before years of massive deaths and economic struggles continue.

@Mickey Cashen, there's a reason Russia sends its citizens to the territory of other countries.
And that reason is to meddle in that countries politics or annexe territory.
So to give Russia Crimea, scrap reparations, war crimes etc , then ukraine is leaving an awful legacy for future generations.

@Mickey Cashen, Unfortunately, I don't agree with that! Putin has no "legal" right to keep Ukrainian land, it's that simple!
There is no chance that the Western world will start to "get tired" of helping Ukraine Protect their country from an outside aggression! We will not give Putin "a free pass"!! But after this war, which has only been started by Russia, WE in the Western world must make sure not to give Russia a chance to get away with making a new aggression against another country! We must clear Russia's assets... if even make Russia smaller in its land area! That is my strong opinion! ;)

Boston wasn't polled, but I firmly believe Ukraine will win. Not only that, victory will help liberate the entire region from aggression and tyranny.

This is The Last Foray in Lithuania. It will lift the region from the Abyss of Despair!
