PUBLIC OPINION: Pope's Sympathizing With Russia – Delusion or Open Support for War?
The Pope openly sympathizes with Russia. Is it wrong in today's circumstances, or simply Vatican hypocrisy on display?
News platforms said it was the long-range version of the US weapon but there was no early Kyiv confirmation. It may have been Ukraine’s most ambitious ballistic missile strike of the war so far.

It might help to include what the Pope specifically said so readers would know what you are talking about.
It should be of no surprise that some (many) pope's from their long history have been corrupted by the fight for the papacy and the power it has wielded over the centuries most especially in Europe. It appears their is something Francis believes he can gain from pro Russian behaviour toward its aggression toward its neighbor. The Catholic church is today just a shadow of its former self. Most of the world does not give a Tinkers damn about what the Pope says and does.
As my long dead and yet very loved old Polish grandmother once said, "the Pope is a dope". Today, the Pope is much worse than that. He has gone beyond playing footsie with fascists the way his predecessors did. He is openly siding with Putin. Along with all the documented child and female abuse committed by the Catholic Church, this is another nail in the coffin of the credibility of that same Church. It desperately needs a reformation, but it probably needs a revolution first.
STOP EVIL PUTIN AND THE POPE
As a Catholic I'm very sad to see Pope Francis supporting heretic positions in general. It seems he's another Pope Honorius who did something similar in the past and was sacked later by the Church. So, patience.
Hence no big surprise that Pope Francis also supports the Communist Russia, which Our Lady of Fatima warned of in 1917 when the devil made Russia to become the first Communist state and since then spreads her errors and wars around the whole world. (Don't forget that several US "hawks" are Trotzkists.)
Still, God has humor. Just take the well known ASCII code number (i.e. 65 for "A", etc) of every letter of the Pope's civil surname BERGOGLIO, add them together, and get as sum: 666.
This is no obscure number madness but just a nice hint to who this Pope's serving as vicar in reality.

the Pope is out of his mind.... praising an evil emprise... One that stands against any Christian value mentioned in the Bible is just crazy. The Pope exposes his weakness as he bows before this evil Empire....
Why don't you all cut the invective. The Pope is doing his best to end the war. He has already told Putin his war is unjustified aggression. Cut the bigotry and get your facts straight.
I am a Catholic, I am surprise the Pope was lauding Catherine the Great, who slept with everyman around at that time. Should we be admiring her or what.
It would take a very "unholy" pope or person to show amy support for Russia or ,Putin. Shame on the pope. glad im not catholic
The Pope is trying to please everyone at the same time. This may work in heaven once you get there. On Earth, it doesn’t work and you need to a take a stand against wrong! If you don’t, you lose.
If his so-called holiness does not have the Christ-like heart and brain to call a terrorist a terrorist then he should keep his fancy mouth shut

@JB, Is not communist is a very strange version of populism called peronist. It is simple: do not need to have sense because is based in being pragmatic and have sympaty at the same time. Conclusion: no one know what Pope is trying to do, maybe not he himself. Would be nice with everyone until he take a parh for a while
