Ukraine’s military forces have created an air defense system that can effectively eliminate almost all enemy air targets, Yuriy Ihnat, the Air Force Command spokesman said on Ukraine’s United News TV marathon.
“The Air Defense Forces have created a unique air defense system. What is its uniqueness? It was possible to combine different forces and means… We have created mobile firing groups. Fighter aircraft and anti-aircraft missile systems of different generations are working,” he said.
At the same time, Ihnat stressed that along with the old Soviet weapons, equipment from Western partners is working on the battlefield.
In particular, along with Soviet air defense installations – the Buk-M1, S-300, and S-125 air defense systems – there are NASAMS, IRIS-T, Crotale, and other Western weapons that have proved their effectiveness in battle.
On the night of March 6, the Air Force destroyed 13 out of 15 kamikaze drones that Russian forces fired toward Ukraine.
