A 15-year-old boy was killed and at least 32 people wounded after Russian armed forces struck Kharkiv with seven guided bombs on Wednesday.

According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov’s Telegram channel, updated data from the city’s Situation Center confirmed the strikes hit the Kyiv, Osnovyansky and Novobavarsky districts. Terekhov said an earlier report of a second fatality was not confirmed, leaving the boy as the only confirmed death.

“Notably, the number of injured children has risen to three: a 17-year old girl suffered from an acute stress reaction,” said Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Attack unfolded in waves through the afternoon

According to RBC-Ukraine, the first reports emerged around 3:50 p.m., when Terekhov reported a guided bomb strike on the Kyiv district that hit a private house, with preliminary reports of casualties.

The mayor later reported an additional strike in the Slobidsky district, followed by another hit that Syniehubov placed in the Osnovyanski district, noting that a fire broke out and a personal vehicle was damaged.

Terekhov later confirmed that this strike landed on the border of the Novobavarsky and Osnovyansky districts.

By 4:23 p.m., Syniehubov reported six people injured, including a 16-year old boy. The mayor subsequently confirmed two deaths in the Novobavarsky district, one of them the 15-year-old boy, though the second fatality was later taken back.
