Belarusian opposition journalist Franak Vyachorka reported on his  Facebook page on Mar. 8 that Boris Johnson, the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, had met with opposition leader and former candidate for the presidency of Belarus, Svitlana Tykhanouskaya. He stated that he is ready to be an advocate not only for Ukraine but also for a free Belarus.

The post also included a video of Johnson's statement: "We are here to talk about the absolute imperative to ensure we don't forget Belarus and what is happening in Ukraine. And particularly, we recognize the bravery and heroism of the Belarusian freedom fighters, who are helping protect liberty in Ukraine, to help expel Putin's forces."

According to Vyachorka, politicians also discussed the support that Britain could provide to Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine and about his plans to call for the release of one of the political prisoners.
