Among the injured is a 16-year-old teenager who remains in serious condition.
The attack also damaged a dormitory and five cars. Emergency services are continuing to inspect the area for further damage.
Nikopol is the fourth-largest city in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It lies directly across the Dnipro River from Enerhodar in the Zaporizhzhia region — a city occupied by Russian forces since the early days of the full-scale invasion.
Enerhodar is also home to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, controlled by Russian troops.
Russian forces regularly shell Nikopol from occupied Enerhodar, with the direct distance between the cities being around 20 kilometers (12 miles). In recent months, drones have become their primary weapon for such cross-river attacks.
In December 2024, Russian troops attacked Nikopol’s central market with a drone, injuring multiple civilians in a similar strike.
Earlier overnight, Russian forces launched drone attacks on Kyiv and Mykolaiv, injuring at least 14 people.
In Kyiv, debris from downed drones caused fires and damaged buildings in the Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts, leaving four people injured, including two hospitalized, according to local officials.

In Mykolaiv, falling debris injured 10 people and damaged residential buildings, garages, and vehicles, regional authorities reported. Two of the injured remain hospitalized.
