In the early hours of Sunday, May 4, Russian drones attacked the Ukrainian capital, sparking fires and causing destruction in the Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

Eleven people were injured, including two children aged 14 and 17, according to the State Emergency Service (SES). The head of Kyiv’s City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, confirmed their ages.

In the Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out in an apartment on the top floor of a 12-story residential building, spreading to the roof and partially destroying its structure. In a separate incident nearby, seven cars caught fire next to another residential building.

In Sviatoshynskyi district, the blaze destroyed three single-story private homes. In Shevchenkivskyi, a tree caught fire, and a power pole and road surface beneath a railway bridge were damaged.

By Sunday morning, emergency officials reported the number of injured had risen to 11. The rescue service also released footage from the scene.

Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine, using 165 strike UAVs and decoy drones. The attack began around 9:00 p.m. on May 3 from Russian regions including Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from occupied Prymorsk in Zaporizhzhia region.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, as of the morning update, 69 combat drones, including Shahed-type UAVs, were shot down over the eastern, northern, southern, and central regions of the country. An additional 80 decoy drones were lost in flight and caused no damage. Several regions were affected by the attack, including Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, and Kyiv oblasts.
