The next NATO Leader’s Summit will take place on June 24-25 in the Netherlands’ Hague where it is believed that President Volodymyr Zelensky will only attend Tuesday’s formal state dinner to be hosted by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands.
It was unclear if Zelensky would attend the summit at all, as Ukraine is not a member of the Alliance. However, on June 2, Zelensky announced that he had been invited to the summit saying that “if Ukraine is not present at the NATO summit, it will be a victory for Putin – not over Ukraine, but over NATO.”

Zelensky is not expected to attend other summit events focused on deterrence and defense.
On Tuesday evening the Foreign Ministers will have the NATO-Ukraine Council Working Dinner, which will be chaired by NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska. During the summit, there will also be a plenary session of the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum.
The primary objective of the NATO Summit is to encourage member nations to increase their collective budget allocation to 5% of their GDP, with 3.5% dedicated to direct military funding and 1.5% to supportive funding.
President Trump initially proposed the increase in military spending, which, according to Secretary General Mark Rutte, has garnered widespread support among NATO member states. The summit’s goal is to secure full agreement from all NATO members on this spending increase.
