Russian forces launched deadly overnight attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine, killing at least three civilians and injuring several others, local officials said Thursday. The strikes came amid intensified aerial assaults following US President Donald Trump’s ultimatum giving Moscow 50 days to end the war or face steep tariffs.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a drone strike on the Pavlohrad district killed a 52-year-old man and injured two others, according to regional military chief Serhii Lysak. The victims received medical care at the scene.

Separately, Ukrainian Railways reported that Russian forces hit an electric locomotive in the same region. The train’s driver was killed, and his assistant was injured but remains in stable condition.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops dropped guided aerial bombs on residential buildings in the Stepnohirsk community, killing a 64-year-old man. “His body was just recovered at the site,” said Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration.
The Kharkiv region was also targeted. In the town of Chuhuiv, four people were injured and multiple residential buildings and an educational facility were damaged, according to Mayor Halyna Minaieva.
Meanwhile, in Kherson, a drone attacked a car carrying the city’s chief rabbi, Yosef Yitzhak Wolff, and his family. The United Jewish Community of Ukraine confirmed there were no injuries, though the vehicle was damaged.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched a total of 35 attack and decoy drones overnight. Air defense units shot down 11 Iranian-made Shahed drones.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its own air defenses downed 73 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions, including three heading toward Moscow.
Eleven were reportedly intercepted over the Moscow region, with minor damage reported to private homes in Domodedovo, Krasnogorsk, Solnechnogorsk, Sergiev Posad, and Mozhaisk. No casualties were reported, according to regional governor Andrei Vorobyov.
The overnight assaults are part of a sharp escalation in Russian aerial attacks. Ukraine says Russia has been launching over 500 drones almost daily in recent weeks, including a record 741 aerial targets in a single night on July 9.
Trump announced on July 14 that the US and NATO allies had agreed to provide weapons to Ukraine, with the alliance covering the cost. He warned Moscow it had 50 days to agree to a peace deal or face “very severe tariffs.”
Russia swiftly rejected the ultimatum. “Any attempts to make demands, especially ultimatums, are unacceptable to us,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Tuesday.
