Russian drone strikes overnight Oct. 10-11 targeted repair crews and critical infrastructure in the Chernihiv region, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries, according to regional authorities.
Chernihiv Governor Viacheslav Chaus reported that in the evening, a Russian drone struck a service vehicle operated by an energy company in the Semenivska community. The vehicle caught fire, and while emergency responders were addressing the situation, a subsequent strike – called a “double-tap strike” hit another company vehicle. One worker died at the scene, and four others sustained injuries and were hospitalized. One of the injured later succumbed to their wounds, raising the death toll to two. Additionally, the local fire brigade that arrived to assist was shelled during the operation.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces launched multiple drone attacks across the region. In the Nizhyn district, drones struck critical infrastructure, igniting the roof of a production workshop. Prompt action by firefighters contained and extinguished the blaze. In Novhorod-Siverskyi, drones hit an administrative building, causing a fire that was quickly localized and extinguished by emergency services.
“These acts of terror against civilians and those working to restore essential services are deplorable,” Chaus stated.
The Chernihiv region has been a frequent target of Russian drone attacks, leading to significant damage to infrastructure and posing ongoing risks to civilian safety.
