Russian forces continued their targeted drone campaign against civilian infrastructure on Saturday, May 2, striking a second public minibus in Kherson and gas stations in Kharkiv.

In Kherson, a Russian drone hit a bus in the Central district at approximately 10:40 a.m., injuring the driver.

This marked the second such attack of the day; an earlier strike at 7:00 a.m. in the Dniprovskyi district killed two people – a municipal worker and a woman – and wounded seven others. Local officials noted that 35 buses were operating across 14 routes at the time, as city trolleybuses were out of service due to repairs.

Simultaneously, Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that Russian UAVs struck gas stations in the Osnovianskyi and Saltivskyi districts. The attacks injured three civilians: two men, aged 47 and 89, and a 49-year-old woman.

Mayor Ihor Terehov added that the strikes also damaged a car dealership and several vehicles.

These daytime hits followed a massive overnight barrage where the Ukrainian Air Force intercepted 142 out of 163 drones launched nationwide. Despite the high interception rate, 17 drones struck 12 locations, including energy infrastructure in Mykolaiv and port facilities in the Odesa region.

President Volodymyr Zelensky previously condemned these strikes on civilian targets, labeling the systematic attacks on public transport and residential areas as a “human safari” that necessitates tighter international sanctions.
