“The Unmanned Systems Forces are one of Ukraine’s greatest achievements – proof of Ukrainian leadership in technology and in saving lives through technology,” Zelensky said.
According to the president, the number of Russian targets struck by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces has reached hundreds of thousands per year. Over the past year alone, from June to June, Ukrainian drone forces hit more than 356,000 Russian targets.
Zelensky thanked the branch’s personnel at every level, singling out Robert “Magyar” Brovdi and other commanders for their role in expanding Ukraine’s drone warfare capabilities.
He also honored Ukrainian soldiers killed in action, saying Ukraine will always remember every warrior who gave their life so the country “can live and remain independent and strong.”
Ukraine formally established the Unmanned Systems Forces as a separate branch of its military to expand the use of drones, robotic systems and other technologies on the battlefield.
