A Russian first-person-view (FPV) drone struck a group of civilians on a road in Nikopol on Tuesday, killing three people and wounding three more, as Russian forces carried out more than 40 artillery and drone attacks across four districts. 

The attack was confirmed by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, who reported the casualties on his official Telegram channel.

Deutsche Welle has also reported on the strike, citing local officials who said the victims were moving through the city when the drone hit them directly. 

Among the confirmed victims were an 87-year-old woman and her 51-year-old son. At the time of the attack, the victims were walking along the road. 

Authorities are still working to identify the third person killed in the strike.

40 strikes across four districts

According to Hanzha, Russian forces attacked four districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with more than 40 strikes throughout Tuesday.

In the Nikopol district alone, the regional center and several communities were hit and set ablaze, including the Marhanets, Pokrovska, Chervonohryhorivka, and Myrivka.

A 77-year-old woman was wounded in the district and is currently receiving treatment.

In the Kamianske district, Russian forces struck the city of Kamianske and the Krynychanska community, damaging a gas station and surrounding vehicles. 

A 61-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were wounded and are being treated at home.

A Su-24M frontline bomber of Ukraine’s 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade crashed in the Khmelnytskyi region on the evening of Tuesday, killing pilot Major Bohdan Zaharulko and navigator Senior Lt. Bohdan Babenko. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the crash on its official Telegram channel, saying the cause is still under investigation.

The Dubovykivka community in the Synelnykove district and the Zelenodolska community in the Kryvyi Rih district were also struck.

Civilians targeted from Kherson to Kharkiv

The Nikopol attack was a part of the broader pattern of Russian strikes on civilians across Ukraine on Tuesday. 

Earlier that morning, Russian forces struck a minibus in the Korabelny district of Kherson with a drone, killing one man at the scene. The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, confirmed the attack on Telegram, saying it occurred at around 8 a.m.

Around 1:30 a.m., a separate Russian drone strike hit an ambulance crew responding to a call in the same district, injuring two doctors – a 51-year-old and a 63-year-old – both of whom sustained blast-related injuries.

Overnight, Russian forces also struck the city of Balakliya in the Kharkiv region with drones, wounding eight people, including a four-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov, four private homes, cars, and outbuildings caught fire as a result of the strike.

In the Kirovohrad region, a drone attack on a livestock complex in the Oleksandrivskyi district killed more than 20 head of cattle, damaging the complex’s building.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched more than 130 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parody decoy drones, along with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles fired from the Rostov region, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Reportedly, Air defense forces neutralized 114 drones, while 16 drones and two missiles reached their targets, with impacts recorded at nine locations and debris from downed drones falling at eight additional sites.
