Russian forces attacked the suburbs of the eastern city of Kharkiv on Sunday, July 19, killing three people and injuring 20 others.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that emergency services are operating in an enhanced mode at the impact sites.

He noted that nine of the injured individuals were transported to local hospitals, with three currently listed in serious condition.
The deadly strike on the Kharkiv outskirts is part of a broader wave of Russian attacks involving guided aerial bombs and strike drones across eastern and southern Ukraine on Sunday.
Earlier drone strike in Izyum
Prior to the attack on the Kharkiv suburbs, a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targeted the city of Izyum, also in the Kharkiv region, on Sunday morning.
Syniehubov reported that the drone strike injured 17 individuals. Medical personnel were dispatched to provide immediate assistance at the scene, while emergency services worked to establish the full circumstances and extent of the damage.
Guided bombs target Sumy and Bilozerka
Further north, the city of Sumy was subjected to an aerial bombardment on Sunday morning. Local authorities reported that Russian tactical aircraft deployed seven guided aerial bombs (KABs) against civilian infrastructure in the city’s Kovpakivskyi district.
The munitions caused damage to both residential sectors and an industrial zone. Three individuals sustained injuries and were subsequently hospitalized.
Russian Guided Bombs Strike Sumy and Kherson Region, Drone Hits Izyum
In the southern Kherson region, local authorities reported that Russian tactical aircraft launched guided aerial bombs at the Bilozerka community. The munitions struck residential areas, killing a 75-year-old woman whose body was recovered from the rubble of her home.
Four other civilians sustained injuries in the Bilozerka attack. Two women, aged 53 and 54, were hospitalized in moderate condition with shrapnel wounds, closed craniocerebral trauma, blast injuries, and concussion. Medical personnel treated a 61-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man at the scene.
The Bilozerka strike damaged over 20 residential buildings – some of which were completely destroyed – alongside outbuildings, vehicles, and local greenhouses.
Train struck in Zaporizhzhia
The morning bombardment also affected civilian transport infrastructure. A Russian drone struck a passenger train in the Zaporizhzhia region, injuring a railway employee. Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) reported that an advanced evacuation command prevented wider casualties among the passengers.
These regional strikes occurred just hours after Russian forces launched an unprecedented barrage of ballistic missiles at the Ukrainian capital early Sunday morning.
