UK authorities are leaving no stone unturned as three Ukrainian born men are charged in connection with firebomb attacks on London properties affiliated with Sir Keir Starmer.
UK security officials are investigating whether Russian actors may have recruited a trio of Ukrainian born men charged with starting fires at two London homes and a vehicle linked to UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer – FT reports.
Senior government figures reportedly said that discussions are being held on how best to respond if that is the case, with one official saying that if Russian actors were found to be involved, events risked “spiralling out of control.”
Moscow contends that all the Ukrainian children made to participate in its marksmanship training and memorial parades obviously want to become good Russian citizens.

On May 24, 2025, the annual Soldier Field 10 run took place in Chicago, USA. Held traditionally ahead of Memorial Day, the event is one of the key commemorations honoring fallen service members. For the third consecutive year, a Ukrainian delegation participated in this iconic race as part of the Run for Ukraine initiative.

Ukrainians refuse to surrender their homes for a false peace. Real peace means justice, security, and the full liberation of Ukraine, the author writes.
The next time a breathless news anchor talks about the prospect of a war-ending “deal”, with Ukraine “ceding land for peace”, I want to sit them down with Adeline. In Lviv last week, Adeline showed me on her phone map her lost home in Russian-occupied Nova Kakhovka, just across the Dnipro River from the Ukrainian-liberated territory around Kherson.
Look, she said, with tears welling up in her eyes, here on this satellite snapshot you can see the ecological disaster that followed Russia’s destruction of the Kakhovka dam in 2023. And here’s the place where she dreamed of setting up a small art gallery. “Why should I give up on my home?” she cried. Why indeed.
Ukraine’s silver-medal finishers step back into Europe as eyes turn to their stars.
For the first time in their history, FC Oleksandriya have finished second in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL), earning the club a well-deserved silver medal and a place in the UEFA Conference League for the 2025/26 season.
Although the club was founded in 1990, the year 1948 on its crest reflects its inherited football legacy from a 2014 merger with UkrAhroKom. By the early 2000s, the club had reached Ukraine’s top flight, only to withdraw in 2003 due to financial constraints. It was reborn in 2011 under coach Volodymyr Sharan, earning promotion and gradually establishing a reputation for structured, attacking football.
As the leader of the free world demonstrates increasing detachment from morality, decency and the norms of international law, are there signs the populist tide is about to turn?
Morality is perhaps the least utilized consideration in political activity. Politics is fundamentally the art of the possible and is only very rarely influenced by moral or ethical factors. This does not mean that there have never been principled, honest and moral politicians in world history. However, such politicians were rare. This is perhaps because such factors as morality and ethics sometimes negatively affect success, which is measured in self-aggrandizement.
However, US President Donald Trump, a bit like other authoritarian leaders, lowers morality to a new level. This is particularly disturbing because the US has long represented freedom and democracy at the highest level. There have been principled and ethical presidents in America. Over the past hundred years, perhaps the most distinct example of this was the relatively politically unsuccessful President Jimmy Carter. Others had their virtues but also serious vices with greater or lesser political efficacy.
Oksen Lisovyi’s last job took him to some of his country’s most dangerous killing grounds. Now he’s taken responsibility for its 3.7 million children.
His CV doesn’t resemble that of any other politician in the world.
To start with, he has a colourful family background as the son of a Soviet dissident. Then his role for a year before being appointed as a Ukrainian Minister was serving in the military – tasked with killing as many Russian soldiers as possible.
The swap is part of the largest prisoner exchange between the two countries. Under the deal, both sides agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners each, following negotiations in Turkey.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that 303 more Ukrainian prisoners of war have returned home as part of the final stage of a major prisoner exchange with Russia.

In a message posted Sunday on Telegram, Zelensky said Russian President Vladimir Putin must be pressured to end the war.
The war-torn country is on its knees. Why is Brussels breaking its legs?
Donald Trump’s phone call with Vladimir Putin earlier this week – during which the US president promised his Russian counterpart “massive amounts of jobs and wealth” once the war in Ukraine ends – prompted a predictably mealy-mouthed response from European leaders.
“I want to thank President Trump for his tireless efforts to bring a ceasefire to Ukraine,” Ursula von der Leyen wrote on X. “It’s important that the US stays engaged. We will continue to support Volodymyr Zelenskyy to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine.”
A Book Review of ‘The Trump Revolution: A New Order of Great Powers’ by Aleksandr Dugin
Aleksandr Dugin has been described as the Kremlin’s chief ideologue for his substantial influence on Russian politics, promoting nationalist and traditionalist themes and publishing extensively on Russia’s central role in world civilization. He is also a long-time supporter of US President Donald Trump, and in his new book, The Trump Revolution: A New Order of Great Powers, Dugin celebrates the election of America’s 47th president as the culmination of his life’s work.
In an earlier article in Skeptic, I called Dugin “a mystical high priest of Russian fascism who wants to bring about the end of the world,” but also noted that is he is a philosopher who specializes in the study and use of ideologies.
Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen said Moscow’s provocative actions at sea and in the air are escalating tensions in the Baltic Sea.
Moscow has ramped up military activity in the Baltic Sea to shield its sanctioned “shadow fleet,” Finland’s defense minister has said, warning that Russia remains a “dangerous neighbor to all of Europe.”
Speaking to Finnish Public Broadcaster Yle on Saturday, Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen said Moscow’s provocative actions at sea and in the air are escalating tensions in the Baltic Sea— a region already under intense pressure since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Dear Editor
Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has accused Canada, France and Britain of being “on the wrong side of history” for allegedly supporting “mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers.” Yet, in the UN General Assembly on Feb. 24, 2025, Israel voted against condemning Russia for waging an aggressive war against Ukraine.
Recent weeks have seen multiple drone strikes across Russia, including attacks on a chemical plant in the Tula region, and strikes on the Energia plant in Lipetsk, a key defence industry site.
Explosions and air defense activity rocked the Tver region overnight Sunday, May 25, as drones targeted the Migalovo military airfield and a nearby military unit.
Governor Igor Rudenya said around five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down near the Migalovo district. The explosions began around 2:30 a.m., with Russian air defenses engaging the drones throughout the night.
Prepared for the US House of Representatives, the assessment says Putin views the war as an “existential struggle against the West”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin “remains confident” he will secure an “ultimate victory” in Ukraine despite Moscow’s participation in ongoing peace negotiations, according to a newly released report from the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
Prepared for the US House of Representatives, the assessment says Putin views the war as an “existential struggle against the West” and an effort to restore the prestige and global influence that he believes Russia lost when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.

Anna Hryniv is a Ukrainian journalist and communications strategist living in the US, where she actively advocates for Ukraine. Kyiv Post (KP): What currently captures Americans’ attention when it comes to Ukraine? How has communication from the Ukrainian community changed?
The ferocity of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has been more than matched by the technological innovation of Kyiv’s defense industry and its military’s determination.
The military innovations of Ukrainian inventors have given its forces an advantage on the battlefield that can ensure its survival – not only physically, but also economically. In this article, I want to discuss the key role of patenting and other procedures needed to protect Ukraine’s intellectual property rights.
Today, the capabilities of Ukraine’s defense industry significantly exceed the volume of investment the country can provide on its own. According to its Ministry of Defense, with additional funding, defense production in 2025 could potentially reach $20 billion. Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine’s defense sector has already attracted over $20 million in investment.
