On Monday, April 7, the Ukrainian Air Force successfully struck and destroyed the command center of the 81st Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of Russia’s forces located in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, according to the Center for Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Thanks to the professional skill of Ukrainian pilots, a reinforced concrete facility was completely destroyed. The number of enemy casualties is still being clarified, but it is estimated that 20 to 30 Russian troops were eliminated.

“This strike has significantly weakened the enemy’s ability to conduct combat operations in the region,” the statement reads.

A video of the strike has been published on the official StratCom channel:

“The pilots of Ukraine’s Air Force will continue to deliver devastating blows to the enemy until they leave Ukraine’s sovereign territory. To be continued... Glory to Ukraine!” the General Staff added.

In addition, on April 7, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted a precision strike on a Russian military warehouse complex in the village of Ozerky, located in Russia’s Kursk region. The facility was reportedly being actively used by Russian forces to support operations near the Ukrainian border.

The strike destroyed multiple hangars, military buildings, and technical equipment. According to preliminary reports, more than 30 Russian servicemen were killed, including UAV operators and technical personnel.

Ukraine Aims to Fill Up to Half of Assault Infantry Positions With Foreign Recruits

Ukraine is seeking to dramatically expand the role of foreign recruits in its military, with Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov saying the government aims for foreigners to fill up to half of all assault and infantry positions.

The Ukrainian military noted that the elimination of this facility significantly weakens Russia’s ability to carry out offensive operations against Ukrainian Defense Forces in Sumy region and along the Kursk axis.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine reiterated that all their strikes are directed solely at legitimate military targets, and that every effort is made to minimize risk to civilians.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to dismantle elements of Russia’s military infrastructure until the aggressor ends its war against the Ukrainian people,” the statement concluded.
