As of May 28, Russia has lost 984,940 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 1,050 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 

The figures are approximate estimations – potentially the reason why troop losses over the past day differed by 90 compared to the figures from the previous day.

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries. 

Russian equipment losses in Ukraine so far

The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:

  • 22,645 armored fighting vehicles (including one over the past day)
  • 50,015 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 56 over the past day)
  • 28,386 artillery systems (including 31 over the past day)
  • 37,999 drones (including 81 over the past day)
  • 10,864 tanks 
  • 1,397 multiple launch rocket systems
  • 1,171 anti-aircraft systems
  • 372 airplanes
  • 336 helicopters
  • 28 ships and boats
  • one submarine

The General Staff said it recorded 205 clashes across the front on Wednesday, May 28.
