As of May 28, Russia has lost 983,980 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 1,050 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries. 

The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:

  • 10,864 tanks (including four over the past day)
  • 22,644 armored fighting vehicles (including two over the past day)
  • 49,959 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 52 over the past day)
  • 28,355 artillery systems (including 18 over the past day)
  • 37,918 drones (including 65 over the past day)
  • 1,397 multiple launch rocket systems
  • 1,171 anti-aircraft systems
  • 372 airplanes
  • 336 helicopters
  • 28 ships and boats
  • one submarine

The General Staff said it recorded 216 clashes across the front on Tuesday, May 27.
