As of July 3, Russia has lost 1,023,090 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 1,000 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). 

Russian casualties in Ukraine surpassed one million on June 16.

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries. 

Russian equipment losses in Ukraine so far

The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:

  • 22,936 armored fighting vehicles (including five over the past day)
  • 53,887 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 101 over the past day)
  • 29,815 artillery systems (including 21 over the past day)
  • 43,098 drones (including 85 over the past day)
  • 10,986 tanks (including one over the past day)
  • 1,191 anti-aircraft systems
  • 1,427 multiple launch rocket systems 
  • 420 airplanes
  • 340 helicopters
  • 28 ships and boats
  • one submarine

The General Staff said it recorded 185 clashes across the front on Wednesday, July 2.
