An additional 12 servicemen sought medical care for suspected barotrauma and acute stress. Emergency services are at the scene, and all injured are receiving necessary medical assistance.
“The Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expresses its sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased,” the statement read.
The Ground Forces said work is ongoing to equip training centers, ranges, and other military facilities with reliable shelters and to implement extra security measures during enemy missile and air attacks.
The location of the strike has not been disclosed.
On July 29, Russian forces launched a missile strike on a Ukrainian Ground Forces training unit, killing 3 servicemen and wounding 18 others.
A commission and internal investigation was established to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
Military analysts wrote that a Russian reconnaissance drone was reportedly spotted over the training area prior to the strike, underscoring the urgent need to shoot down such drones to prevent future attacks.

Earlier, on June 22, Russian missiles hit another Ukrainian military training ground, killing at least 3 soldiers and injuring 11. The Ukrainian Ground Forces stated the strike targeted a training site used by a mechanized brigade.
While the exact location was undisclosed, the Telegram channel Nikolaevsky Vanyok, reportedly linked to local officials, suggested the site was in the Mykolaiv region, a claim not independently confirmed.
Those strikes were part of a series of recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian training areas:
June 4: A training site in Poltava was hit, causing unspecified injuries.
June 1: A missile strike killed at least 12 troops and wounded over 60, leading to the resignation of Ground Forces commander Mykhailo Drapaty.
May 20: 6 soldiers were killed and more than 10 wounded at a shooting range in the Sumy region.
March 1: A strike on a Dnipropetrovsk training base prompted AFU’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky to order a review of missile threat protocols and stricter enforcement of rules against open-air gatherings.
