“Tonight the Russians tried to kill me. They launched four jet-powered Shahed drones at me. One of them hit the wall of my house. I no longer have a home,” he wrote, adding that he survived with minor injuries.
Kyiv Post could not independently verify whether the strike specifically targeted the official.
Background: sustained drone attacks across Ukraine
Russia has maintained near-daily drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, often combining them with missile strikes to pressure air defenses and civilian infrastructure.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia launched 142 drones overnight, including Shahed-type UAVs, with air defenses downing or suppressing 113 of them.
Strikes and falling debris were recorded across multiple regions, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions.
Officials reported damage to residential buildings, infrastructure and vehicles, as well as civilian injuries in several areas.
