Russian military bloggers and propagandists said on Monday, May 11, that Ukrainian drones are now capable of striking targets up to 160-200 km (100-124 miles) behind the front line, including a key Russian logistics corridor linking occupied Crimea with southern Ukraine.

According to Russian Telegram channels cited by ASTRA, the attacks are targeting the highway running from Taganrog to Dzhankoi through occupied Mariupol, Berdiansk, Melitopol and Henichesk – a route often referred to as Russia’s “land corridor” to Crimea.

Russian propagandists call strikes ‘alarming’

Russian pro-war blogger Alexei Zhivov described the attacks as “an extremely alarming signal” for both military and civilian logistics.

“The enemy has begun reaching the key logistics artery,” Zhivov wrote, claiming Ukraine was using long-range drones with Starlink systems capable of striking targets up to 200 km away.

Another Russian military blogger, Vladimir Romanov, said Ukrainian drones were targeting the Mariupol-Berdiansk section of the route at distances up to 160 km from the front line.

“Now it is no longer a rear-area road,” Romanov said in a video showing a burned fuel tanker near the highway.

Ukraine increasingly targets Russian logistics

The reports come after Ukraine’s Azov Brigade earlier published footage showing drone strikes on Russian military vehicles near occupied Mariupol.

Azov claimed Ukrainian drone units are now capable of patrolling roads and striking targets at depths of up to 160 km behind the line of contact.
