President Volodymyr Zelensky said he held a “very substantive” conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, as Kyiv seeks to build new diplomatic momentum toward ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
In a post on X, Zelensky said the two leaders revisited the key points of their discussion from the previous day in London and coordinated their next steps.

“We must use every available opportunity to reinvigorate diplomacy and bring the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine closer,” Zelensky wrote.
The Ukrainian leader said he and Macron also discussed the details of his earlier conversation with envoys of the US president, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, during a stopover at Chișinău Airport.
Zelensky described that conversation with the US envoys as “very positive,” saying he was grateful for their readiness to work actively in the coming weeks to revive diplomacy.
The talks come as Ukraine is preparing for the G7 format in France. Zelensky stressed that it is important for the upcoming meetings to deliver “strong results.”
“We are preparing for the G7 format in France, and it is important that there be strong results,” he concluded.
