Russian forces launched a series of deadly strikes across multiple Ukrainian regions on Sunday, June 14, targeting civilian vehicles, residential homes, and critical railway infrastructure. 

Drones hunt civilian cars in Zaporizhzhia

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian operators utilized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to target civilian vehicles in motion.

According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration (OVA), Russian drones attacked passenger cars in the Kushuhum community. The strikes damaged at least two vehicles and resulted in multiple civilian casualties.

Three civilians were wounded in the vehicle attacks, including two men aged 49 and 53, and a 55-year-old woman. All victims are currently receiving necessary medical care.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) reported that the another strike in Zaporizhzhia district killed one civilian man and sparked a fire that engulfed a residential house and an adjacent garage. Emergency response teams and firefighters deployed to the scene to extinguish the blaze and secure the area.

Railway infrastructure hit in Lozova

Simultaneously, the Russian military continued its systematic attempts to degrade Ukraine’s transit and logistics networks by targeting the Kharkiv region’s railway infrastructure.

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development reported that Russian drones struck the Lozova railway station early in the morning. The kinetic impact caused damage to commercial locomotives.

A weekend of widespread bombardment

The attacks in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv follow a 48 hours of aerial bombardments aimed at population centers and local industry in the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.

On the morning of Sunday, June 14, a Russian strike hit a local light industry enterprise in the city of Dnipro. The strike collapsed the ceiling in one of the primary workshops and devastated specialized production equipment. Seven civilians sustained injuries during the bombardment, with three men requiring hospitalization in moderate condition.

Just a day prior, on June 13, Russian tactical aircraft executed a mid-morning strike on the heavily populated central district of Sloviansk. Russian jets dropped three guided aerial bombs (KABs) directly onto the city center.

Equipped with satellite guidance systems, these heavy munitions inflicted massive destruction. Shockwaves and fragmentation blew out facades and fractured structural supports across 23 multi-story residential high-rise buildings. A local educational institution sustained direct damage, and numerous parked civilian vehicles were crushed or incinerated.

Three women sustained various blast and shrapnel injuries and were hospitalized.
