A major presentation of Ukrainian art will be featured at the Oxford Festival of the Arts this summer, marking a significant milestone for Ukraine’s cultural presence in the UK.
At the center of the program is “White Bouquet. A Labyrinth of Symbolism in the work of Oleksandr Dubovyk,” an exhibition by acclaimed Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Dubovyk.

The program will run from July 1 to 10 at Kendrew Barn Gallery at St. John’s College, University of Oxford, marking the first time the artist’s work will be presented as part of the Oxford Festival of the Arts – one of Britain’s most prestigious cultural events.
The exhibition is expected to become one of the most substantial presentations of Ukrainian visual art in the festival’s history, offering British audiences a rare opportunity to engage with the work of one of Ukraine’s most influential contemporary artists.
Dubovyk, a leading figure in Ukrainian art, has spent decades developing a distinctive symbolic language that explores memory, identity, spirituality, and humanity’s search for meaning. His works have become an important part of Ukraine’s cultural canon and continue to influence generations of artists.
The exhibition forms part of the Summer 2026 season of Kyiv Art Sessions, an international multidisciplinary cultural initiative dedicated to presenting contemporary Ukrainian culture to global audiences. This year’s program is united by the theme “Signs and Symbols.”

The theme resonates closely with the 2026 Oxford Festival of the Arts program “Signs, Symbols, and Secrets,” creating a dialogue between Ukrainian artistic thought and broader international cultural conversations.
The exhibition opening will feature “Oleksandr Dubovyk: A Dynamic Portrait in Seven Acts and Four Dimensions,” a performative project by Ukrainian designer, artist, and philosopher Fedir Vozianov. Through fashion, movement and performance, the project reinterprets Dubovyk’s visual universe for contemporary audiences.
The season will also include two charity concerts by internationally acclaimed Ukrainian pianist Antonii Baryshevskyi.
The performances, scheduled for June 30 in Oxford and July 2 in London, will feature works by leading Ukrainian composers Valentyn Sylvestrov, Victoria Poleva, and Maxim Shalygin.
All proceeds from the concerts will support the Voices of Children Foundation, which provides assistance to children affected by Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Founded in 2024 by the Dom Master Klass Cultural Centre and the Art Shield Foundation, Kyiv Art Sessions has organized four UK seasons since its launch. In 2025, the initiative received two SABRE Awards in the Preserving Art in Crisis category and a PR Daily Award for its contribution to promoting Ukrainian culture internationally.
