Intensified aerial campaign
The Sunday morning attacks follow a summary of recent Russian bombardments provided by UkrainianPresident Volodymyr Zelensky.
On Saturday, Zelensky stated that over the preceding week, Russian forces had deployed approximately 1,400 attack drones, 1,500 guided aerial bombs, and 19 missiles of various types against 15 Ukrainian regions.
“Using various types of weapons, the Russians are striking people, ordinary residential buildings, and our civilian infrastructure,” Zelensky stated, highlighting near-daily bombardments in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
In light of the sustained attacks, the president reiterated urgent calls for Ukraine’s international partners to bolster the country’s air defense capabilities, with a specific emphasis on anti-ballistic missile systems, and demanded more stringent sanctions against Moscow.
