[UPDATED: April 21, 4:36 pm , Kyiv time. Changed Fox News to LiveNOW from FOX]

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry called for an apology and investigation by Fox Corporation for labeling Kyiv a “Russian city” during its coverage of Easter services on April 20.

LiveNOW from FOX, a news network favored by US President Donald Trump and a part of FOX TV Stations, aired images of Easter services in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital and identified it as part of Russia. The misidentification reportedly remained on screen for 20 minutes.

“If this was a mistake rather than a deliberate political statement, there should be an apology and an investigation into who made the mistake,” Heorhii Tykhyi, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, wrote on X on April 20.

The channel’s mislabeling occurred during a broadcast that included live footage of religious services from around the world – including one attended by Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

While he did not directly address the error, President Volodymyr Zelensky also appeared to criticize the channel in a separate post.

“Thanks to all the media, podcasters, bloggers – everyone who spreads the truth about what’s happening. It’s worth broadcasting not the religious services from Moscow, but putting pressure on Moscow to really go for a full ceasefire and keep it for at least 30 days after Easter to give diplomacy a chance,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
