The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is a cost-cutting agency headed by billionaire Elon Musk, a major donor to US President Donald Trump’s election campaign.
It has been reported that, with the help of DOGE, US immigration services have arrested two Ukrainian nationals in the US for allegedly voting illegally in the November 2024 presidential election.

The Secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said the arrests were carried out by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers “in partnership with DOGE” in an X update on Tuesday.
“In partnership with @DOGE, @ICEgov arrested two Ukrainian nationals for illegally VOTING in the 2024 election,” Noem said without providing further details, such as the age of the suspects and the exact circumstances for their arrests.
“Under President Donald Trump, if you come to our country and break our laws, you will face the consequences,” she added.
While DOGE was initially founded as an external advisory body to help slash government spending, its overarching powers, including access to classified data, have prompted concerns among experts.
Even though DOGE leader Musk has been known for his anti-Ukrainian stance, it is unclear how a cost-cutting agency is involved with the arrests of suspects for allegedly voting illegally in elections.
