UPDATED June 6, 2025 3:33 a.m., Kyiv time

Kyiv Post reporters in the capital’s central district heard explosions at around 3 a.m. local time as the mayor and other local authorities issued shelter-in-place warnings and initial reports of three injuries so far resulting from the blasts.

Several drones could be heard hovering overhead as air defenses worked continuously, resulting in several loud blasts.

The blasts came within hours of US President Donald Trump’s warning to the Kremlin not to retaliate for Ukraine’s successful attack earlier in the week on 41 Russian warplanes deep within Russian territory.
