US President Donald Trump fired off against former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s comments on Monday, saying that the US has the most “powerful and lethal weapons ever built.”

“Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the ‘N word’ (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran? Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination? If he did say that, and, if confirmed, please let me know, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Monday.

Medvedev is often referred to as the “herald of the apocalypse” for his bellicose statements, especially on the threat of nuclear weapons.

“The enrichment of nuclear material – and, now we can say it outright, the future production of nuclear weapons – will continue...A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their own nuclear warheads,” said Medvedev in a post on X on Sunday.

Trump has been reticent to criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin directly, but he did mention the Russian leader in the post.

“The ‘N word’ should not be treated so casually. I guess that’s why Putin’s ‘THE BOSS.’” Trump wrote.

The Kremlin has been inconsistent in its response to Saturday’s attack on Iran by the US.

House Defies Trump on Ukraine in Historic Vote: What Happens Next?

The US House of Representatives approved the Ukraine Support Act by a vote of 226-195. The vote represents the first major Ukraine legislation to advance over White House resistance since Trump’s return to power in January 2025 and one of the most important congressional challenges to his foreign policy agenda to date. Will it pass in the Senate? Either way, cracks in Trump’s Capitol Hill sarcophagus are showing.

On Sunday, Russia’s foreign ministry called the attacks on Iran “an irresponsible decision to subject the territory of a sovereign state to missile and bomb strikes,” adding that it “grossly violates international law.”

On Monday, Putin called the strikes on Iran “unprovoked” and “unjustified,” but earlier,  Kremlin spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov had said that the US strikes would not affect relations between Washington and Moscow, as they are “independent processes.”

Moscow has attempted to position itself as a peace broker in the conflict between Israel and Iran, but the fighting has continued.

The US President continued to champion the prowess of the US military and the effectiveness of the strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities last weekend.

“By the way, if anyone thinks our ‘hardware’ was great over the weekend, far and away the strongest and best equipment we have, 20 years advanced over the pack, is our Nuclear Submarines. They are the most powerful and lethal weapons ever built,” Trump added in his Truth Social update.
