As of July 1, Russia has lost 1,020,980 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 970 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). 

Russian casualties in Ukraine surpassed one million on June 16.

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries. 

Russian equipment losses in Ukraine so far

The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:

  • 22,928 armored fighting vehicles (including six over the past day)
  • 53,696 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 103 over the past day)
  • 29,754 artillery systems (including 36 over the past day)
  • 42,940 drones (including 144 over the past day)
  • 10,983 tanks (including three over the past day)
  • 1,427 multiple launch rocket systems 
  • 1,190 anti-aircraft systems
  • 420 airplanes
  • 340 helicopters
  • 28 ships and boats
  • one submarine

The General Staff said it recorded 146 clashes across the front on Monday, June 30.
