As of July 4, Russia has lost 1,024,210 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 1,120 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU).
Russian casualties in Ukraine surpassed one million on June 16.

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries.
Russian equipment losses in Ukraine so far
The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:
- 22,946 armored fighting vehicles (including 10 over the past day)
- 53,999 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 112 over the past day)
- 29,865 artillery systems (including 50 over the past day)
- 43,303 drones (including 205 over the past day)
- 10,988 tanks (including two over the past day)
- 1,428 multiple launch rocket systems (including one over the past day)
- 1,191 anti-aircraft systems
- 420 airplanes
- 340 helicopters
- 28 ships and boats
- one submarine
The General Staff said it recorded 148 clashes across the front on Thursday, July 3.
