As of July 18, Russia has lost 1,039,830 troops after launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022 – including 1,180 troops over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU).
Russian casualties in Ukraine surpassed one million on June 16.

The figures include all troops who are put out of action for some time due to deaths or injuries.
Russian equipment losses in Ukraine so far
The General Staff, in its daily update, also listed Russia’s total recorded equipment losses as follows:
- 23,005 armored fighting vehicles (including nine over the past day)
- 55,494 vehicles and fuel tanks (including 111 over the past day)
- 30,485 artillery systems (including 47 over the past day)
- 46,549 drones (including 135 over the past day)
- 11,032 tanks (including three over the past day)
- 1,441 multiple launch rocket systems (including one over the past day)
- 1,197 anti-aircraft systems
- 421 airplanes
- 340 helicopters
- 28 ships and boats
- one submarine
The General Staff said it recorded 180 clashes across the front on Thursday, July 17.
