Ukraine’s parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, on Tuesday voted to dismiss Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko from her role and, along with it, the entire cabinet.
The decision followed President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Sunday announcement of a government reshuffle, with the parliament expected to vote for Svyrydenko’s replacement on Thursday.

During Tuesday’s parliament hearing, 258 lawmakers voted for her dismissal, a formal step required following a minister’s resignation.
According to Interfax Ukraine, Svyrydenko noted her achievements during her time as prime minister in her resignation speech in parliament, which included securing the €90 billion ($103 billion) loan package from the EU.
“The financial support of our partners gives us confidence this and next year,” she said.
Svyrydenko was also a key figure in securing the minerals deal with the US, signed during her tenure as economy minister. Her Tuesday resignation came just shy of a year after she was appointed prime minister on July 17, 2025.
Zelensky hinted at a foreign-facing role for Svyrydenko during Sunday’s announcement, reportedly as Ukraine’s envoy to Washington, but she declined the offer, according to sources cited by local outlet Ukrainska Pravda.
Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Ukraine’s state-owned gas conglomerate Naftogaz, is believed to be a likely replacement for Svyrydenko.
