Russian Bombs Destroy Nova Poshta Terminal in Izyum as 150,000 Lose Power in Chernihiv

Russian forces struck Izyum in the Kharkiv region with guided aerial bombs (KABs) early on Friday, July 24, destroying a Nova Poshta cargo terminal and damaging nearby infrastructure, while overnight attacks targeted several other regions across Ukraine.

According to the Izyum City Military Administration (MVA), the attack occurred at around 4:00 a.m., with Russian forces dropping three KABs on the city.

One bomb hit a Nova Poshta cargo terminal, while the other two struck a warehouse and an open area nearby.

“The enemy used three guided aerial bombs. Hits were recorded at the Nova Poshta cargo terminal, a warehouse, and an open area. The attack damaged the windows of nearby residential buildings, four vehicles, and power lines, leaving part of the district without electricity,” the military administration said.

The damaged power lines caused electricity outages in parts of the Izyum district.

Russian attacks also hit the Chernihiv region, where drones sparked several fires, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS).

In the Novhorod-Siverskyi district, a Russian drone ignited a minibus in one settlement and an outbuilding in another. A separate strike set fire to a vacant two-story boarding house.

In the Koriukivsky district, a Russian strike caused a fire in the operator building of a gas station.

No casualties were reported, and firefighters extinguished all blazes.

Meanwhile, regional power operator Chernihivoblenergo said about 150,000 customers in Chernihiv city and the surrounding district lost electricity after an energy facility was damaged.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched five Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 180 drones overnight, including Shahed attack drones as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodi decoy drones.

Ukraine’s air defenses, aviation, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups intercepted four of the five missiles and 160 drones.

One missile and 14 drones reached their targets at nine locations, while debris from intercepted drones was recorded at eight additional sites, according to the preliminary military assessment.
