Three people including an 11-year-old girl and her mother have been killed in the latest overnight aerial attack by Russia against Kyiv.

Ten others were injured.

“The first day of summer. Children's Day. And the ruscists launch another attack on the capital and kill again! They kill Ukrainian children,” said Serhiy Popko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Air raid sirens sounded in the capital shortly before 3 a.m. Kyiv Post reporters in the center of the city heard the sound of incoming missiles followed shortly after by the sounds of air defenses intercepting them.

A series of around 10 loud explosions could be heard above the city in quick succession.

According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russia fired 10 Iskander ballistic missiles during the attack, all which were intercepted and destroyed.

Despite none hitting their targets, debris fell on several areas of the city, causing deaths, injuries and damage to buildings.

“In the Desnyansky district: three people died, including one child (born in 2012) and 10 people were injured, including one child,” the Kyiv City Military Administration wrote on Telegram.

“In the Dniprovsky district: two people were injured.” Previous official reports had said two children were killed in the strikes.

Pictures posted on social media showed windows blown out in a clinic and in a nearby apartment building.

The Enemy Within the US Is Letting Russia Get Away With Murder

The US Congress has no shortage of “Putin’s useful idiots” who are doing their best to abandon Ukraine. The only way to assure Ukraine’s survival is to offer Kyiv NATO membership.

Today is Children's Day in Ukraine but Kyiv officials announced early on Thursday morning that all planned events had been cancelled in light of the ongoing attacks.

"It is international children's day. At night, Russia again killed a child in Kyiv," said Andriy Yermak, chief of President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's office.

"Since 2014, the terrorist country has been committing crimes against little Ukrainians. From February 24, 2022, no one has any doubts - this is a real genocide."

The all clear was given just after 4 a.m.

Russia has dramatically stepped up its attacks against Kyiv in recent weeks, launching drones and missiles against the capital almost every other night since the beginning of May.
