Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) reported on June 24 that they eliminated a Russian assault group and captured a Wagner mercenary in the Pokrovsk sector.
The operation, carried out by the 144th SSO Center with support from UAVs, FPV drones, mortar and grenade launcher crews, targeted a Russian group that had infiltrated the Ukrainian rear and disrupted unit rotations, killing one Ukrainian soldier and wounding another.
The strike began with a drone hit on a diesel locomotive where the Russians were hiding. As it caught fire, six Russian troops fled, with drone operators and artillery hunting them down. Five were killed.
