Kremlin hawk Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday the US should remember that Russia has big bombs, from which no bunker could keep its occupants safe.

Medvedev, Russia’s former prime minister and now deputy chairman of the Security Council, made the remark in response to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s interview with US outlet Axios, during which the Ukrainian leader said the Kremlin remains a possible target, and Russian officials must either end the war or seek shelter.

Medvedev, using one of his favorite insults, called Zelensky a “junkie” in his update via “Max,” Russia’s new social media platform, before once again tacitly reminding his readers that Russia is a nuclear power, extending the same threats towards the US.

“The junkie in Kiev [sic] said that the Kremlin needs to know where the bomb shelter is so they can hide when he uses long-range American weapons,” Medvedev wrote.

“What that freak needs to understand is this: Russia has weapons that no bomb shelter can protect against. The Americans should remember this, too,” he added.

Medvedev consistently made nuclear threats against the West since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, behavior that has earned him the moniker “herald of the apocalypse.”

In 2024, Medvedev threatened to nuke the West a grand total of 12 times on his Telegram channel.

Medvedev’s subtle message to the US also came as US President Donald Trump made a surprise statement after meeting Zelensky on Tuesday – praising the wartime leader while calling Russia a “paper tiger,” adding that he believes Ukraine can reclaim lost ground given the right support.

Ukraine Denies Striking Bus With Belarusian Youth Football Team

Ukraine’s General Staff denied Russian claims that a Ukrainian drone struck a bus carrying a Belarusian children’s football team in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast on Wednesday, dismissing the accusation as a Kremlin-orchestrated provocation. The strike killed one woman and injured several children.

A few months earlier, Trump also slammed Medvedev for the latter’s use of the “N word” after he threatened to supply Iran with nukes following US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the ‘N word’ (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other Countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran? Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination?” Trump wrote.
