Russian forces have been heavily attacking Dnipro with drones since the evening of Monday, Nov. 17, causing fires, damaging buildings, and leaving several people injured.

“Two people were injured as a result of the massive attack in Dnipro. A 59-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were hospitalized in moderate condition,” Vladyslav Haivanenko, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration (OVA), wrote on Telegram.

Several fires broke out across the city as a result of the Russian strike.

“A two-story media building, transport and private enterprises, an administrative building, a service station, shops and kiosks, a catering facility, infrastructure, six apartment buildings, garages, more than 20 cars, and three other vehicles were damaged or destroyed,” the administration reported.

The Suspilne news outlet wrote that the building housing their editorial office and Ukrainian Radio was among those damaged.

Ukrzaliznytsia, the state railway company, earlier reported that windows in train carriages and station buildings were shattered during the attack on Dnipro, and two trains were delayed by 2.5 hours.

The delays affected the Zaporizhzhia-Przemyśl and Dnipro-Chełm routes.

“Passengers and crews of these trains, as well as those on suburban train 6044 Pyatykhatky-Dnipro, remained in the station shelter throughout the attack and were not harmed,” the company said.

Romania Wants to Boost Air Defence After Drone Strike Blamed on Russia

Romania’s foreign minister said the country must strengthen air defence with NATO support after a drone strike near its Ukraine border injured two people. While not confirming intent, she blamed Russia for responsibility. Bucharest is seeking short-term NATO help and joint anti-drone cooperation with Kyiv amid repeated drone incursions.

Ukrzaliznytsia added that parts of the region were left without power, forcing railway workers to use reserve diesel locomotives.

In addition, Russian forces launched missiles at Berestove in the Kharkiv region early Tuesday morning, causing further civilian casualties.

“A 17-year-old girl who was seriously injured in the missile strike on the city of Berestove has died in the hospital,” the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleh Syniehubov, wrote on Telegram.

He added that nine other victims are currently known, including a 16-year-old boy. Seven people have been hospitalized with explosive injuries, while two more suffered acute stress reactions.

It remains unclear how many missiles struck Berestove. However, based on Syniehubov’s statements, it appears that more than one strike occurred.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, starting at 8 p.m. on Nov. 17, Russia launched an attack using four Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 114 Shahed, Geran, and other types of strike UAVs, around 70 of which were Shaheds.

The assault was countered by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.

“As of 8.30 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 101 enemy Shahed, Geran strike UAVs and other drones in the north, south, and east of the country,” the Air Force reported.

However, four missiles and 13 strike UAVs struck 15 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in two additional locations.
