Russia’s attack destroyed a modern post branch in Lviv, operated by the state-owned postal service Ukrposhta. About 900 parcels were destroyed, but no employees were injured or harmed.

“Approximately 900 parcels were lost in the strike,” Ukrposhta’s CEO Ihor Smilianskyi reported on his Telegram channel Nov. 19. “Ukrposhta is urgently initiating a compensation process for affected customers.”

Ukrposhta plans to fully restore the branch, he said. 

Overnight on Nov. 18-19, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil regions came under the massive Russian assault. Around 500 rescuers and more than 100 pieces of equipment are working across nine sites, Ukraineʼs Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

In the Lviv region, firefighters are extinguishing several burning warehouses covering more than 10,000 square meters (108,000 square feet) – all civilian sites. In the western city of Ternopil, 20 people had been confirmed dead as of 1:18 p.m Kyiv Time, and 66 others injured.

Russia is intensifying its attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and large enterprises, causing damage to the country’s biggest producers and businesses.

On Nov. 3, A Russian Shahed drone struck a warehouse belonging to Ukrainian snack producer Star Brands in the city of Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. The fire destroyed raw materials and finished goods from the company’s Snack Production and Chip Club units, but all employees were in shelters and no injuries were reported.
