Poland’s president has said any proposals aimed at ending the war in Ukraine must be accepted by Kyiv and cannot mean Russia achieves its strategic aims.
Karol Nawrocki also said any peace deal must “take account of the fact that Russia is a country that does not abide by agreements.”

The Trump administration presented Ukraine with a 28-point peace plan on Thursday in a renewed attempt to end the war, now in its fourth winter. The Kremlin said on Friday it had not been formally presented with the proposals.
The plan is believed to involve major territorial concessions by Ukraine as well as severe limits on its future military capacity and a permanent block on NATO membership.
‘Criminal aggression’
President Nawrocki posted on the X platform on Friday that “any peace plan aimed at ending the war Russia has waged on Ukraine must be accepted by Kyiv.
“It is Ukraine that fell victim to Putin’s criminal aggression and it is Ukrainians that with the support of the United States and EU countries must have a decisive voice in peace talks,” the post read.
The Polish head of state said that any agreements concerning European security can be taken only with the participation of all interested parties.
“The price of peace can in no way be the aggressor’s achievement of its strategic aims, and the aggressor was and is the Russian Federation,” the president wrote.
