Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Pavlograd in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region overnight, killing one person and injuring a 14-year-old girl, local officials said Sunday, April 27.
Russian aerial attacks have escalated despite calls by US President Donald Trump for a ceasefire to halt more than three years of fighting.

Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, said air defenses shot down 13 drones during the assault, but some still caused damage.
Two apartment buildings were hit in Pavlograd, sparking a fire in one. In the nearby Verbkove community, a drone strike on an agricultural enterprise killed 500 animals, Lysak said.
The attack comes just two nights after a massive Russian drone strike in the same region killed three people and wounded 15 others in Pavlograd, where the base of the medical volunteer battalion “Hospitallers” was also destroyed.
Across the country, Ukraine’s military reported shooting down 57 Shahed-type attack drones over the east, north, south, and center by Saturday morning. Another 67 imitation drones were “lost locationally without negative consequences,” according to officials.
In Zhytomyr, one person was injured and treated for an acute stress reaction, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said. Fires broke out across the city, damaging warehouses, dry grass fields, residential buildings, outbuildings, and cars.
